We are thrilled to welcome David Asarnoj, who joined us as Chief Product and Technology Officer in June. As our CPTO, David will lead the product and technology strategy, bringing extensive experience from the tech industry.
As the photo reveals, David is currently spending his summer on the beautiful island Fårö, Gotland, enjoying time with his family. While he’s embracing the island life for now, he’ll be back in his Stockholm base after the summer.
We spoke with David to talk about his future vision, and ask what makes Fårö his favorite summer escape.
Q&A with David
Q: What excites you most about joining Wisentic and the insurtech world?
A: I was really amazed when I got to know about Wisentic, to see that there is a way to add value across the whole insurtech value chain. We now have a chance to strengthen our position even more by the opportunities we have ahead. I'm really looking forward to bringing my experience to Wisentic, making it even more successful on our future growth journey.
Q: What is your main focus when it comes to our product and technology?
A: My main focus is aligning product and technology into a single organization that delivers real customer and business value. It increases communication and collaboration, and speeds up the way we solve our customers' problems. We’re shifting toward modern, outcome-driven practices to build scalable, reliable products that truly solve user problems.
Q: What's your philosophy on building great products?
A: Great products come from empowered teams that deeply understand their users and are trusted to solve problems. I believe in continuous discovery, rapid iteration, and building what’s valuable, usable, and feasible. The essence of it is about our customers - how we can help them make their everyday life and their business more enjoyable, profitable and simple. It boils down to understanding their needs and build products that support them. With +30 years of experience in this industry, we are in an excellent position to do this.
Q: We hear you're enjoing Fårö right now. What makes the island special to you?
A: A few years ago we built a house on Fårö and try to spend as much of our spare time here as possible. There is something about this island that makes my heart beat go down as soon as I get here. The nature and light are very beautiful. You also find some of the most amazing beaches in Sweden here, and then there is of course the rauks...
